JAMES was born on July 24th, 1907 in Lying In Hospital, Philadelpia,Pa..  JAMES' father was FRANCIS Joseph CONWAY and his mother was LOUISA M ROTH.  His paternal grandparents are PETER CONWAY and MARY HESTER; his maternal grandfather is JOHN ROTH and his maternal grandmother was SOPHIA GEIST.  He had eight brothers and four sisters, named FRANCIS J, PETER P., ALEXANDER, THOMAS JOSEPH, WILLIAM FRANCIS, JACK (EDWIN) (EDWARD J), WALTER, GEORGE FRANCIS, MARY HELEN, HELEN, ANNA VIRGINIA and SOPHIE.  He was the fourth oldest of the thirteen children.  He died at the age of 86 on November 1st, 1993 in at home,Philadelphia,Pa..  His burial was in Holy Sepulcher Cemetery,Philadelphia,Pa..
